ISO 26000 ETHICS AND INTEGRITY ARE OUR FOUNDATION

ISO 26000 is the international guideline for social responsibility of organizations. To meet the social need (among organizations and their stakeholders) to demonstrate that and how ISO 26000 is applied, the ISO 26000 self-declaration has been developed. The performance of a 'self-assessment' that underlies the self-declaration and the format for the declaration itself and its substantiation are laid down in NPR 9026+C1, NPR 9026 for short. The self-declaration (including the substantiation) can be published on the NEN Publication Platform ISO 26000.

The Method

In the context of drawing up the self-declaration, Frapak used the NPR 9026+C1:2012, a document that focuses on answering 40 questions from the self-declaration manual. These questions serve as a guideline for formulating various texts and substantiating statements.

These questions are derived from the main elements of ISO 26000, an international guideline for corporate social responsibility (CSR). Frapak is committed to recording the 7 CSR Core Themes, whereby the questionnaire functions as a working document that is continuously updated and optimized to gain a grip on these core themes and to promote integration within the organization.

The process of drawing up the self-declaration therefore starts with consulting the NPR 9026+C1:2012 and answering the 40 questions. Frapak sees this self-declaration as an important tool to promote transparency and accountability, and to emphasize its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility within the organization and externally
