Lower carbon footprint & lower overall environmental impact

Until now, PET jars used in Cosmetic or food markets have been supplied with standard PP closures. This can potentially lead to sorting issues once the container needs to be recycled. To prevent this issue, Frapak Packaging Group is now launching a PET closure made out of 100% (recycled) PET!

Frapak Packaging Group is now launching a PET closure made out of 100% (recycled) PET! This combines with our rPET jars to create a mono-material, 100% rPET jar and a lower carbon footprint & lower overall environmental impact.

The 70-400 rPET closure fits the complete range of PET jars from 50 to 500ml in different shapes.

The new closure can be made from rPET with a full EFSA approval

The added advantage is that the lid can be transparent allowing the content of the jar to be seen from the top only adding to the product experience especially when presented on lower shelves. Having a solution with recycled materials for food packaging is a challenge, as European legislation does not allow direct contact of food with recycled materials which have not been approved by EFSA.

The new closure can be made from rPET with a full EFSA approval, allowing it to be used for food products.

Mono-material PET jars including PET lids

Offer several benefits and are considered one of the most sustainable solutions for packaging. Here are some of the benefits:

  1. Recyclability: Mono-material PET jars and lids are made entirely from PET, which is a recyclable material. This means that they can be easily recycled and reused to make new products, reducing the amount of waste generated.
  2. Lightweight: PET is a lightweight material, which means that mono-material PET jars and lids are also lightweight. This makes them easier and cheaper to transport, reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation.
  3. Durability: PET is a strong and durable material, which means that mono-material PET jars and lids are also strong and durable. This makes them suitable for packaging a wide range of products, including food and beverages.
  4. Transparency: PET is a transparent material, which means that mono-material PET jars and lids are also transparent. This allows consumers to see the product inside the container, increasing product visibility and appeal.
  5. Cost-effective: PET is a cost-effective material, which means that mono-material PET jars and lids are also cost-effective. This makes them a popular choice for many companies looking to reduce their packaging costs.

Overall, mono-material PET jars including PET lids are considered the most sustainable solution because they are made entirely from a single material, making them easy to recycle and reducing the amount of waste generated. They are also lightweight, durable, transparent, and cost-effective, making them a popular choice for many companies looking to reduce their environmental impact and packaging costs.
